Nokia Q2 2006 showed growth outside US
Nokia’s second quarter earnings point to strong handset sales in almost every market outside North America. The overall sales in North America of Nokia’s handsets dropped by 13.3% to just 5.2 million. Latin America was flat, all other markets doubled their sales.
Nokia’s Q2 2006 statistics:
- Total device shipments hit 78.4m
- Smartphones made up 18.3m of the total
- Profit hit $1.44b including some one time proceeds
- Revenue reached $11.9b
Currently, Nokia has estimated market share of 34%, increase from 33% last year.
