Mobile maps from Google
Google announced the availability of Google Maps for Mobile.
The new free service comes with the following features:
- Detailed directions – step by step directions are displayed on the map itself
- Integrated search results – local business locations with contact information are integrated with the map
- Easily movable maps – interective maps allow zoom in and out as well as moving them in any desired direction
- Satelllite images – satellite view of mapped location
- Real time traffic – ability to see traffic congestions, avaialble in over 30 major US metropolitan areas
The service requires java-enabled (J2ME) device with a data plan.
The service can be downloaded to the phone directly from the following location: www.google.com/gmm.
