Sprint Family Locater upgrade

Posted on August 10th, 2006

In an effort to compete with Disney Mobile, Sprint Nextel updated its Sprint Family Locater service to improve its offerings. The competition race is always good for the customers.

The uprated service offers kids tracking capability from a mobile device or a web site. The service uses GPS (Global Positioning System) embedded inside of a child’s mobile phone.

Part of the upgrade was a support for more handsets: 30 parent capable handsets and 58 child capable handsets.

The Sprint Family Locater service costs $9.99 for locating up to 4 Sprint phones.
