MySpace by Cingular Wireless
Cingular Wireless announced today that it would offer MySpace.com on its phones.
The new service will cost $2.99 per month and it will have the following features:
- Read and respond to MySpace e-mail
- Upload photos directly from the cell phone
- View and search for friends from their handsets
- Update blog entries
Cingular follows steps of Helio, a phone service carrier already offering MySpace service, in the attempt to allow customers access to one of the most visited websites on the net. Rapid growth at MySpace reached 130 million user profiles.
If you are interested in signing up for this service, you will need to download a Java software application to your cell phones.
As an initial deployment, about 30 cell phone models will be supported, with another 20 models supported in the coming weeks, which will then account for about 90 percent of Cingular’s cell phone user base, a MySpace representative said.
The initial launch of MySpace by Cingular Wireless will not support viewing of online videos from MySpace, but the feature is expected sometime in 2007.
