Mobile Borders
Borders is joining the growing mobile market. According to MarketingWeek, Borders will start sending free sample chapters to customers’ mobile devices before a book is released. If users decide that they like the book, they can purchase the book at a store using the barcode for up to 20% discount.
Borders plans to promote 30 new titles each month through the downloads. The new promotional program is built on the mobile voucher activity and illustrates a commitment to exploring how new technology can bring books to a wider audience, says Laura Stafford, Border’s CRM and online manager.
