Nextel needs more time
According to News.com, Nextel is planning to ask the FCC for more time to comply with the December 31 deadline.
The FCC set a deadline for 95% of all wireless handsets to be locatable to 911 services.
Nextel estimates that 70 – 85 percent of all customers’ cell phones will be complient with the FCC’s request by the end of 2005.
