Mobile access to PC by Orange

Posted on December 7th, 2006

France Telecom, the parent company of mobile phone operator Orange, announced Tuesday a new service allowing mobile users access their PC’s content from their mobile phones.

The service is called Mon PC a distance. The service requires a free software client that needs to be installed onto the PC. Once the client software is installed, users can access all of the content stored on the PC in all media formats: videos, music, photos, or documents using any mobile device with standard browsing capability.

The Mon PC a distance service was designed by France Telecom and Nokia, and Nokia will host it and maintaine it.

France Telecom is planning to introduce the service in other mobile markets like Switzerland , the Netherlands , Romania , Slovakia and the U.K.
