All MLB games on Sprint

An agreement was reached between Sprint and Major League Baseball to deliver a live radio broadcast of every major league game to Sprint’s wireless customers.

The non-exclusive deal allows other mobile providers (Mobile ESPN and Verizon Wireless) to offer some MLB themed content. For now, Sprint is the only wireless carrier to offer the live audio.

Sprint’s service will be available on 16 different handsets from the Sprint family for as little as $5.99 per month. User will be able to sign up for the service through the MLB.com WAP site and Sprint’s Vision store.

Some of the games will also be available for Spanish speaking users.

Sony Ericsson K618i

Sony Ericsson announced K618i, a new 3G multimedia handset. The K618i is based on the same platform as the K610.

Features of the K618i include:

  • Tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900MHz) and UMTS (2100MHz)
  • Bluetooth EDR with stereo support
  • 262k color TFT LCD (176×220)
  • 2.0 megapixel camera with 2.5x digital zoom, plus VGA (640×480) camera for video calling
  • M2 memory card slot, 256mb card in box
  • Music player supporting MP3, AAC, AAC+, and eAAC+ files

Sony Ericsson is expected to ship the K618i in Q3 2006 in selected markets. The phone will be offered in two colors: Vibrant Black or Bright White. The pricing has not been disclosed yet.

Helio for MySpace

MySpace users can enjoy Helio services without contract commitment and early termination fee, as part of a new promotion launched by Helio.

Helio, partnership between EarthLink and SK Telecom is trying to boost new customer sign ups to offset the low customer retention since its launch in May.

The service prices will remain unchanged ranging from $65 to $135 a month.

All services plans come with unlimited data transfer and messaging.

Two slim Samsung phones were recently approved by FCC and will be offered by T-Mobile shortly.

The phone have similar features:

  • Quad-band GSM with EDGE data
  • 2 Megapixel camera
  • Bluetooth

T519 specific features:

  • 7 mm thick
  • 80 MB of memory

T629 specific features:

  • Micro SD slot
  • 70 MB of memory

Sprint will sell Razr family mobile phones

Len Lauer, Sprint COO, announced today during the company’s conference call that Sprint will start selling Motorola’s popular Razr family phones during the companies third quarter this year.

The decision perhaps is a result of comments made by some analysts about relationship between Sprint’s disappointing quarterly growth and not selling phones from the popular Razr family.

Phones like Motorola’s “Q” and the SLVR are planned to be the primary phones offered by Sprint.
